Hello my lovely babes,
I just got back from my grass volleyball tourney. We finished pool play second but lost the first game of bracket play so we came home. :[ Not a bad finish, but not particularly good...
Anyways, before I go and shower my gross self, I wanted to say a few things...
I was playing side by side with YOU KNOW WHO (if you don't know who...read my earlier post titled "azn sensation's uber long day")...and wouldn't you know it? He annoys the living hell out of me.
I admit; I did not have the best day. I missed roughly 80% of my serves, and my passing was no good at all. Still, I thank everyone for their support. I don't feel like a complete douche.
I'm about to make myself feel like a douche right now by dissing this guy. Whatever.
We didn't have the greatest finish to our first set on our last match. On the final set we were all just trying to keep everyone from crashing and continue encouraging them to the last. We miss a serve; okay, shake it off. Keep playing. Keep that chin up. But nooooooo. Not for Mr. Oldie. He just yells at them during our time-out;
"We HAVE to put those serves in. We're just giving them the ball now. Come on! Let's go!"
Great. Way to put down our already-discouraged team.
I really should stop bitching about this old man. He's not even what I want to talk about.
What I wanted to say was, I saw a dude with an ice-cream cart on the way through the park to the car. I happened to have a few dollar bills in my gym bag, so I bought a lemon-lime flavored popsicle and ate it on the way home. (Now that I think of it, I had the same flavor there, too...) I finished it and was keeping the popsicle stick in my mouth like an old man would with a toothpick, and BOOM BANG SHABOOMBANG (dunno where that came from. wow) I had total Deja Vu.
The last time I did that with a popsicle stick was while I was touring DC with Wendy, Rosanna, Eddie, and Katie. As mentioned above, I had a lemon-lime flavored popsicle there, too.
:]
Despite our not so good finish, that one popsicle made me very happy.
Ah, the simple joys of life.
:]
